sweet-nails asked: What is the best way to clean your brushes after using them with regular nail polish or acrylic paint?
I use pure acetone most of the time, I just dip them in and then wipe them off on a paper towel or something similar. If that isn’t enough I’ll pour a little bit of acetone in the cap and swirl the brush around in it, usually that is enough the break down the polish or paint. Just be careful not to dip the brush too far into the bottle of acetone because acetone is strong and will start to eat away at the paint on the brush handle. It can also eat away at the glue that holds the ferrule (the metal part) and the handle together, it’s something to keep in mind, but I just keep a little superglue on hand for when that happens.
You can use regular nail polish remover for cleaning brushes in a pinch, but I find once the paint or polish has really dried on the brush bristles the regular remover will not be as easy to use as acetone!
